![]() ![]() ![]() I have a ryzen 4700u with radeon graphics on a laptop and i think this is the error that is giving issuesįeb 01 09:36:53 poslop-m kernel: amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: ] *ERROR* ring sdma0 test failed (-110)įeb 01 09:36:53 poslop-m kernel: ] *ERROR* resume of IP block failed -110įeb 01 09:36:53 poslop-m kernel: amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: amdgpu: amdgpu_device_ip_resume failed (-110).įeb 01 09:36:53 poslop-m kernel: PM: dpm_run_callback(): pci_pm_resume+0x0/0xe0 returns -110įeb 01 09:36:53 poslop-m kernel: amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: PM: failed to resume async: error -110 ive tried this on both 5.16.2 and 5.10.93 kernels The only way for me to fix it is to power off the laptop useing the power button. When I exit tty i still have a black screen. sometimes i can login and I can enter tty but other times it does not let me. Additionally, VMware’s “Autofit” options will work properly again.Whenever I wake my laptop from sleep I get a blackscreen where I can only move my mouse. Thanks, Matthew!Īfter the modification, it should look like this: ĭescription=Open Virtual Machine Tools (VMware Tools)įinally, you can change the screen resolution right after booting the system. While the screen resolution can be modified instantly afterwards, you’ll have to redo this process after a reboot.Ī more permanent solution is a modification of the systemd unit file /usr/lib/systemd/system/rvice.Īs Matthew pointed out in his comment, you should avoiding editing the unit file manually and use the systemctl edit rvice command instead. Temporarily, it’s possible to (re)start the necessary service with the systemctl restart rviceĬommand. According to an entry in the Manjaro forums (dated May 2019) shows two possible solutions. The underlying issue is that the systemd service providing the VMware Guest Tools is not starting properly. I was able to reproduce the issue with my VM running Manjaro with the KDE desktop. ![]() Since the screen resolution is pinned to 800×600 pixels, it’s almost impossible to properly use the VM. Neither changing the resolution manually nor using the “Fit Guest Now” option is working correctly. I received reports that simply restarting the vmtoolsd service doesn’t work anymore.ĭue to a bug in current versions of Manjaro, it is not possible to change the screen resolution if Manjaro is running as a VMware guest. ![]()
